Privacy Policy

Matchup does not collect, transmit, or share any data.

Last updated: 19 September 2026

What Matchup stores

Everything Matchup saves stays in your browser, using chrome.storage.local:

  • The images you add, as layers
  • Each layer's position, size, scale, opacity, and name
  • Your settings and shortcuts

Layers are stored per site. The ones you add on a site are the ones you see when you return to it.

None of this leaves your device. Matchup has no account, no server, and no analytics.

What Matchup accesses

The page you are on. Matchup runs on the site you open it on so it can place the overlay and read the viewport and scroll position. It does not read, store, or transmit the page's content.

Your clipboard. Only when you paste an image, and only to read that image. Nothing else on the clipboard is accessed or stored.

Deleting your data

Open Matchup's settings to see what's stored for each site. You can clear one site or all of them. Removing the extension deletes everything it saved.

Changes

Any change to this policy is committed to this file, so its history is public.
